App Crashes or Freezes
When an app closes unexpectedly or becomes unresponsive, use these steps to diagnose and fix the issue.
Quick Checks
- Update the app to the latest version.
- Check for OS updates and graphics drivers.
- Close background apps using high CPU/RAM (Task Manager).
Logs & Safe Mode
- Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Application to check crash errors.
- Boot into Safe Mode and test — if stable, likely a driver or third-party conflict.
Clean Boot & Repair
Warning: Disabling startup items is temporary for testing; re-enable essentials after diagnosis.
- Run
msconfig→ Services → Hide Microsoft services → Disable all; Task Manager → Startup → Disable non-essential. - Repair or reinstall the application (use official installer).
- Clear app cache/data if supported by the app.
