App Won’t Open
When double-clicking does nothing, use these steps to diagnose and fix application launch issues.
Basic Checks
- Reboot the PC and try again.
- Right-click → Run as administrator (for apps requiring elevation).
- Disable antivirus temporarily to test (then re-enable).
Clear Caches / Reset
- For Microsoft Store apps: Settings → Apps → App → Advanced options → Repair/Reset.
- Delete temporary files:
%temp%in Run → select all → delete.
Warning: Reset may remove local app data or sign-ins. Back up if possible.
Repair or Reinstall
- Download the latest installer from the official site.
- Install “Repair” if offered; otherwise uninstall → reboot → reinstall.
- Check Event Viewer if it still fails to start (look for .NET/VC++ dependencies).
